The Assistance League of Wichita is hosting an “Eastside vs. Westside Trivia Throwdown” on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at The Olive Tree (2949 N. Rock Rd) beginning at 7:00. Come for a fun-filled competition to show off (or simply laugh until your sides split)!  Let loose of all the trivia you thought you forgot!  Support your side of town---will this be the last word on what side of town is top dog??  Bring a few dollar bills for some unexpected opportunities to win bucks.  You won’t want to miss this opportunity to have a good time with friends and support a great philanthropy in the community.  Your money goes to support the programs listed below.   Assistance League® of Wichita, an all-volunteer nonprofit organization, is celebrating its 30th year of transforming the lives of children and adults through these philanthropic programs that provide service to the Wichita community including:   Operation School Bell which provides new school clothing, coats, shoes and grooming kits to USD 259 students in need.   Scholarships which help pay for fees and supplies toward completing a vocational degree at Wichita Area Technical College or Butler Community College.     Sexual Assault Victim Support which provides victims with new clothing and toiletry items through the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center.     Bear-Hugs which distributes new cuddly, tote-bags and journals or sketchbooks to children who are victims of violence. It helps a child to have a bear to hug while being interviewed and examined by the SANE/SART nurse or staff at the Via Christi-St. Joseph Campus and Wesley Medical Center. Also statistics indicate it enables children to heal by sketching or journaling.

Subaru of Wichita selects ALW as the local non-profit for their “Share the Love” campaign!

Subaru-logo-and-wordmark We are very excited and pleased to announce that Subaru of Wichita has selected us as their local non-profit for Subaru's "Share the Love" campaign. Each customer that purchases a new Subaru from November 19 to January 2 will be able to pick one of four national non-profits or the customer can select the local non-profit - ALW!! Subaru will donate $250 to the non-profit the customer selects! While we support the other non-profits, we are certainly in hopes the local customers will select Assistance League of Wichita. Thank you, Subaru of Wichita!

Make a Difference Day

Assistance League of Wichita is again participating in Make a Difference Day on October 24, 2015. As we did last year, we are partnering with USD 259's homeless outreach program and will be collecting children's books (pre-k through High School). Bring your donations to the Sept. 28th meeting (Scotch and Sirloin 11:30) or drop them off at the Thrift Shop. Janis Meredith is this year's chair for Make a Difference Day. IMG_4742

Gingerbread Village 2014

Gingerbread Village 2014 is a community event of the Assistance League® of Wichita, which provides services to students and families in our community. We partner with Exploration Place to create an exciting and memorable experience. Gingerbread Village was  open to the public on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 10 AM to 6 PM and on Sunday, November 16 from 11:00 AM to 5 PM.
