Gingerbread Village 2014

Gingerbread Village 2014 is a community event of the Assistance League® of Wichita, which provides services to students and families in our community. We partner with Exploration Place to create an exciting and memorable experience. Gingerbread Village was  open to the public on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 10 AM to 6 PM and on Sunday, November 16 from 11:00 AM to 5 PM. Guests are able to create their own take-home house and explore and experience Exploration Place exhibits! Go to http://www.exploration.org  for ticket information. Gingerbread Village is a fabulous two day event. Starting with a Professional Competition for Gingerbread Houses. Next there is a High School division for construction. Local area high school teams had a great time building unique structures.   Orpheum house_z Prof House 2_z Professional house_z GBV high school_z Then we opened to the public. We want to thank the many volunteers that were tireless. They set up boxes of supplies, made frosting and helped with the design and construction process for many families. We are so glad that besides the terrific members of Assistance League and the cooperative staff from Exploration Place, we also had teams from the Sorority and Inter-fraternity Council at WSU; Rainbow Girls; East high IB program; Scout troops; Capitol Federal employees; Cambridge Village personnel and many other friends and families that helped support this terrific event.
